Membership Information:

Accredited Members (A.A.):
Accredited Members must have attained the age of 30 years and have a minimum of 8 years experience as an appraiser in the field(s) of expertise in which they are applying. Age may be reduced under certain circumstances by petitioning the Board of Directors. Accredited members must submit three appraisals for each area of expertise in which they are applying.

Accredited members must complete a written and/or verbal examination in each of the area of expertise in which they are applying. Exceptions may apply in the case of Members who hold a relevant degree or have other suitable qualifications.

Members:
Members must have attained the age of 25 years and have a minimum of 5 years experience as an appraiser in the field(s) of expertise in which they are applying. Age may be reduced under certain circumstances by petitioning the Board of Directors. Members must submit three appraisals for each area of expertise in which they are applying.

Associates (A.M.):
Associates must have attained the age of 21 years and have a minimum of 3 years experience as an appraiser in the field(s) of expertise in which they are applying. Associates must submit three appraisals for each area of expertise in which they are applying.

Upgrading:
Those admitted to the CAPPA as Associates may apply to upgrade their standing to Member whenever they are able to fulfill all application requirements for Member status. Those admitted to the CAPPA as Members may apply for Accreditation whenever they are able to fulfill all application requirements.

Fees:
Initiation fees are $100. Current annual fees with CPA are $125 for Accredited Members and regular members. Annual fees for Associates are $125 per year.
